The Use of Technology in Nursing

Ending the first semester of the program and entering the clinical setting, I will witness the communication barriers between my future colleagues. As completing a paper on the use of technology in nursing, I can agree that technology may offer a direction in which nurses can overcome the barriers between their patients and colleagues. For example, nursing shortages are greatly increasing as the baby boom population is aging. Technology will only eliminate time spent on charting and allow for more time to build a relationship with the client. It will also allow more time spent on communication between the nurse and their colleagues to better the care that can be provided to the patient. Overall, technology is seen as a benefit to the nursing profession.

Carly's First Blog!

Hi, my name is Carly. I am currently in my first year of university at the University Of Ontario Institute Of Technology in the nursing program. I enjoy the nursing program and have always desired to be a nurse since I was younger. As part of my program, I was assigned to create this blog. Personally, I am not a very computer-literate person, so I was not looking forward to completing this assignment. I believe that a blog is somewhat good; in a sense that it allows a person to express their feelings and creativity in a unique way to allow many others to see. Through creating this blog, I hopefully will become accustomed to this new way of communication for the future.
