The Use of Technology in Nursing

Ending the first semester of the program and entering the clinical setting, I will witness the communication barriers between my future colleagues. As completing a paper on the use of technology in nursing, I can agree that technology may offer a direction in which nurses can overcome the barriers between their patients and colleagues. For example, nursing shortages are greatly increasing as the baby boom population is aging. Technology will only eliminate time spent on charting and allow for more time to build a relationship with the client. It will also allow more time spent on communication between the nurse and their colleagues to better the care that can be provided to the patient. Overall, technology is seen as a benefit to the nursing profession.
